Cloud computing... virtual computing to the max!

Everyone needs a cloud now, but not everyone knows it yet.  Here's the scoop on what a cloud can do for you...

What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is a term that you may have head recently.  Windows 7 advertises it heavily.  What it really means is that off somewhere on the internet is a computer that you attach to and use it via remote control.  When you run a program, the program actually runs "out there" and merely displays the results on the machine you have in your lap or on your desk.  This remote computer you are attaching to has whatever power and capacity you need to do all the things you need to do.  It gets bigger and faster when you ask it to do more.  Like getting an instant computer upgrade.  This remote control format of a computer that is always big enough and fast enough to do your work has some HUGE advantages for you:

  • You can run the biggest, nastiest programs on an iPad or notepad.  Since the program and the data are actually somewhere else, your little device is only working as a display device.  Even the smallest machine has all the capacity needed to run anything you can think of.  Use the latest and greatest versions of all the software for years to come without your machine ever getting too old, too small or too slow to run it.
  • You don't need to carry a computer.  Since you are accessing your stuff which sits somewhere else, you can sit down and any computer and have full access to your stuff.  Which leads to...
  • Always access the latest version of all your documents and files, no matter where you are.  Since you are always accessing the same files, you are getting the latest from where ever you are.  Have you ever done work at home and then realized you'd forgotten it there once you've left?  With cloud computing, those days are long gone.

There are other advantages as well, but those are the big ones.  Your connection to your stuff is fuly secured, so no one else will be able to see or access any of it.  With secure access and backups, your data and programs will be safer than they've ever been in the past.

In the very near future, there will be a link from Shazaam to allow you to obtain your very own personal cloud.  In the meantime, click on one of the Contact Us links to ask questions or to obtain your cloud.
